Hungary scores well in cigarette price but scores poorly in affordability change, and in the mid-range in tax share and tax structure. It would greatly benefit from reducing the cigarette affordability, increasing the tax share of price, and improving the tax structure.

Hungary's overall score fell from 2014 to 2020, and then it increased slightly in 2022 due to an increase in the cigarette price.
