Egypt scores poorly in cigarette price, affordability change and tax structure, and in the mid-range in tax share. It would greatly benefit from higher cigarette prices, reducing the cigarette affordability, improving the tax structure, and increasing the tax share of price.

Egypt's overall score decreased between 2018 and 2022. The decrease was contributed by reduction in the tax share, the cigarette price and the affordability change scores in 2020 and 2022.
