Belgium scores well in tax share but scores poorly in affordability change, and in the mid-range in cigarette price and tax structure. It would greatly benefit from reducing the cigarette affordability, higher cigarette prices, and improving the tax structure.

Belgium's overall score slightly decreased between 2014 and 2022. Although there was a rise in the tax share score in 2022, the cigarette affordability change score declined in 2022.
