The Economics of Tobacco Taxation in Bangladesh
This report was produced by the BRAC Institute of Governance and Development, BRAC University (BIGD), in Dhaka, Bangladesh. The report examines the level and trends in tobacco use as well as the taxation of tobacco products in Bangladesh. The report recommends adoption of a uniform specific tax on cigarettes and biris and steps toward formalizing the markets for smokeless tobacco products.
