Economic Costs of Tobacco Use
This policy brief discusses various categories of economic costs of tobacco use and presents the available global evidence. It is based on the U.S. NCI and WHO 2016 Monograph, "The Economics of Tobacco and Tobacco Control" and several other published sources. A corresponding technical note published provides more detail on the various methodologies applied in estimating the economic costs of tobacco use.
