Attracting Funding for Cancer Prevention Using Economic and Fiscal Tools (Presentation)
This presentation was given by Frank Chaloupka at the World Cancer Congress on October 3, 2018, in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. During this presentation, reasoning for taxing "unhealthy products," such as sugar-sweetened beverages, alcohol, and tobacco products, were discussed. Chaloupka highlights a few examples of successful programs that do so, such as the California's Comprehensive Tobacco Control Program, Thai Health Promotion Foundation, and the Philippines "Sin Tax" Reform.
