Solomon Islands scores poorly in cigarette price, affordability change, tax share and tax structure. It would greatly benefit from higher cigarette prices, reducing the cigarette affordability, increasing the tax share of price, and improving the tax structure.
Scores Over Time
Solomon Islands' overall score decreased slightly from 2014 to 2018 before it increased again in 2022. In that time, the cigarette price decreased. There was a failure to reduce the affordability of cigarette over time although the tax share score increased in 2022.
