Cameroon scores poorly in cigarette price, affordability change and tax share, and in the mid-range in tax structure. It would greatly benefit from higher cigarette prices, reducing the cigarette affordability, increasing the tax share of price, and improving the tax structure.
Scores Over Time
Cameroon's overall score increased between 2016 and 2020, but it decreased in 2022. The fall is due to a reduction in the affordability change score.
