Sandy Slater, Ph.D.

Dr. Sandy Slater is a Research Assistant Professor at the University of Illinois at Chicago School of Public Health, in the Department of Health Policy and Administration. Sandy specializes in community-based health research and is involved in numerous studies designed to examine and reduce modifiable risk factors such as physical inactivity, obesity, and tobacco use. Her research activities focus on low-income urban communities of color and rural populations—two  populations vulnerable to physical inactivity and high rates of obesity.
