Christina Laternser, Ph.D.(c)Graduate Research Assistant
Christina Laternser is a Ph.D. candidate in the Economics department at the University of Illinois of Chicago. Her dissertation focuses on the interface of Industrial Organizations and Health Economics, specifically pharmaceutical companies' and generic firms' strategic behavior. Currently, she is evaluating the effects of the Hatch-Waxman Act on balancing innovation and competition in the pharmaceutical market. Her research experience is predominantly in the health field. She has worked on obesity and tobacco related research and is currently working in partnership at Northwestern University hospitals.
Christina earned her Bachelor of Science in mathematics from Fairfield University, her Master of Science in mathematics from Fairfield University, a Master of Science in economics and policy from DePaul University and a Master of Arts in economics from the University of Illinois at Chicago.
