Effects of Tobacco Taxes on Income Distribution in Argentina

This Policy Brief was produced by the Centro de Estudios Dsitributivos, Laborales y Socialias (CEDLAS) in Argentina. The Policy Brief examines the tobacco taxes and price increases in Argentina and the effects they would have on income distribution as well as cigarette consumption. The Policy Brief concludes that higher taxes and prices on tobacco products would have positive effects for income distribution, health, and lower tobacco consumption in Argentina.
